Protein Synthesis & the Genetic Code
The Central dogma
The the process of protein synthesis in molecular biology is a multistep process, transcription and translation, by which the information in genes flows into proteins: DNA → RNA → protein. The coded genetic information is held within DNA is transcribed into individual transportable copies of mRNA (messenger RNA), mRNA contains the recipe for synthesis of a particular protein (or small number of proteins).
