The human body has 3 systems of chemical control with which manipulate its internal environment.
The Nervous System
- Response time: immediate
The Endocrine System
- Response time: slow
- Chemicals (usually hormones) are secreted into blood stream or immediate surroundings
The Exocrine System
- Chemicals (usually not hormones) in glads are secreted through ducts to external locations
"crine" = Greek for "secretion"
