Introduction to population Dynamics
This population of these snow geese has increased from 50,000 in 1960, to 700,000 in 1997, to over 1 000 000 in 2002. During their migration south they cause damage to farmers fields and crops as they rest and seek a food source.
Student Question: What will eventually happen to this population of snow geese if they continue to grow?
If the geese population continues to grow, they may exceed the carrying capacity of their habitat as there will not be enough resources to sustain their numbers
