Photosynthesis
below you will find useful animations for teaching photosynthesis.
Click on the link below for a comprehensive animation of photosynthesis. This animations is split into components which allows you to pause and resume at different points in the lesson. Within each component, a camera button will appear; clicking the camera button displays a diagram or pictorial representation of that component, which you may use as a tool to explain a certain topic within the lesson. You may skip to a component by clicking the scenes button at the top.
Click the link below for an exploration tool of photosynthesis. This tool allows you to manipulate light intensity and light wavelength to see what effect these will have on the efficiency of photosynthesis, measured as a percentage of maximal ATP produced, monitored in the meter in the upper left-hand corner. The program will keep track of how much ATP is generated over time in the two indicator boxes below the % maximal ATP box
Click the link below for an animation of the photosynthetic electron transport chain and ATP synthesis.
Click the link below for an animation of the Calvin Cycle. This is accompanied by a quiz, which can be used by students to test their understanding of the Calvin Cycle
Additional animations can be downloaded from the files below.
