dynamic equilibrium
The body maintains various physiological conditions such as temperature at a constant level. This isn't to say that these levels aren't subject to change. In room temperature, we would be constantly losing heat to our environment. Our bodily functions work to against the environment to keep our temperature up. This constant giving and taking away keeps us at the same range. This is referred to as dynamic equilibrium. Although we maintain the same level for certain conditions, there are various factors that keep changing those conditions, and the body works to maintain them at that particular level, namely, to maintain homeostasis.
